THE COURAGE TO BE FRIDA: Today, Frida Kahlo is recognized as one of the most important artists of the twentieth century, an innovator who blended the mythic, the surreal, and autobiography into a new kind of expression. This program provides a brief overview of her tempestuous, often traumatic life and a more extensive dive into a half dozen of her most important works, pieces that help reveal why Frida Kahlo was–and remains–a truly courageous woman.
