Fame is a fickle thing. At its most mischievous, it arrives with aplomb after those seeking it have died. This program explores some house-hold names like Dickinson, Melville, Bach and Van Gogh, who were mostly unknown in their lifetimes despite prodigious effort and output. How profound it is to consider what unknown legacy may await us after we’re gone.
