ABC Community Night: Lines, Drawing, and Movement (online)

September 17, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

At this Community Night, held online, we’ll explore how observing and drawing lines we see in the world around us can help us find joy in improvisational movement! We will spend time drawing contour line portraits of each other and of our surroundings, and we will use our observations and thoughts about lines to prompt some free dancing!

Fun for all ages, this class will joyfully encourage connection between body and mind.

NEW DATE – Friday, September 17 | 6:00pm | Free

Preregistration is required. Email or call the Friendly House Front Desk to register: frontdesk@friendlyhouseinc.org or call 503-228-4391.

Instructor: In addition to being a Friendly House Front Desk Associate (for nearly 9 years!), Allie Hankins is a dancer, choreographer, and artist. She has been making dances and performing around the world for more than 10 years, and she loves nothing more than bringing the community together through celebratory and contemplative movement practices.

Community Nights have returned to Friendly House with the launch of a series of six collaborative art projects and activities created together online and (eventually) in-person throughout the year. Friendly House Community Nights are supported by an Oregon Arts Commission Arts Build Communities (ABC) Grant.
